It's a new week here at PACC, and we've got quite a few small dogs, several puppies, and HUNDREDS of loving, deserving big dogs who would LOVE to become your new best friend today ? We still have more than 5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ dogs in our shelter, putting us PAST critical capacity, and we are in URGENT need of adopters and fosters‼️
We're open from noon to 7 p.m. today if you can help us help them
Visit: Pima Animal Control Center, 4000 N Silverbell Rd, Tucson.
This #LongStaySunday, meet Cleo, our adorable resident "house hippo." We're pretty sure that if you looked up the term in the dictionary, you’d find her picture. ?
This perfectly portly princess was surrendered to PACC when a new baby joined her family. After spending some time in a loving foster home, she’s back with us and ready to find her family! ?
Cleo's foster says that at eight years old, Cleo is the ultimate couch potato, relishing the good life and spending lots of time sunbathing, rolling on her back, and taking long naps anywhere soft. She's been known to get a bit of pep in her step for water, though; she loves to dip her toes in the pool and chase the water hose! ?
Cleo has a huge heart ? and is friendly with everyone she meets. She's also housebroken and well-behaved when left at home alone. This special senior gal is a true gem! If you’re ready to welcome a lovable pit-a-potamus into your home, come meet Cleo at PACC today! ??

Meet Moto , a spirited 3-year-old pit bull mix, whose only wish is to find his loving family. He is our longest stay dog and we'd love to make his wish come true. With a perfect mix of cuddly affection and playful energy, Moto delights in both snuggling up for a cozy nap and engaging in lively play. Give him a tough ball, and he’ll entertain himself for hours; he also has a special fondness for plush toys. A quick learner, Moto excels at commands in both English and Spanish, including “shake” and “sit pretty.” Whether it’s car rides or lounging on a rocking chair, he’s up for any adventure. If you’re searching for a loving and goofy canine companion, Moto might just be your ideal match. ?
Are you looking for a way to enjoy this beautiful weather ?, put a smile on a pup's face ??, and help save a life all at the same time? Consider taking a PACC pup (like Semita, pictured!) on a Day Trip - or even a Pawjama Party!
Here's how it works:
1. You come to our foster office any time we're open ?,
2. We help you pick out a pup ?,
3. and you're on your way! You and your new buddy can go on a hike, get a pup cup, have a sleepover, or even just go for a drive!
These short breaks from the shelter can be as short as a couple of hours, but they can be literally life-changing for our pups; in fact, recent research shows that dogs that go on even a short day trip are FIVE TIMES more likely to be adopted!
So if you're looking for something to do this holiday weekend, consider taking a PACC pup along!
Participants must be at least 18 years old and must bring their ID, and we ask that pups on Day Trips/Pawjama Parties are kept separate from resident pets for everyone's safety. ?

Magnolia, Azalea, Star, Nimbus, and Comet are friendly, happy puppies who recently tested positive for distemper virus. While they're recovering, they need to go to a home with no other dogs or with fully-vaccinated adult dogs. They are currently in foster homes and set to return to the shelter. Due to how FULL we are, we do not have isolation space for them at the shelter and need to find foster or pre-adoptive homes for them ASAP! They can go separately. If you can help, please email Please Email and Help ?
Please note: These dogs were fully isolated when at PACC previously and we have no concerns for exposure to our overall population.

The message: Our dog kennels are F U L L, and we need YOUR help! PACC is overflowing with mature gals like Brindle, young whippersnappers (as Brindle would call them ?), and absolutely EVERYTHING in between. With 50+ dogs coming into the shelter EVERY DAY, these dogs need YOUR help today!
If you're looking for a new best friend - forever or just for a little while - come down and meet the hundreds of available dogs and puppies here at PACC! All dogs and puppies are FREE to adopt, and we're even sending home a crate with every big dog - like Brindle ? - that gets adopted.
You can also help PACC dogs by:
? FOSTERING a dog! Even an afternoon or overnight can change lives. Come to PACC's foster office today between noon and 6:15 p.m. to get started!
? HELPING HEALTHY, FRIENDLY STRAYS find their homes before bringing them to the shelter! Remember, taking actions like using lost.petcolove.org's FREE image recognition technology, hanging flyers, making social media posts, and even walking the dog around the neighborhood all give the pet a better chance of making it back to their families than bringing them to the shelter does.
? Putting a COLLAR and TAG on your dog TODAY so they can get home quickly and easily if they're lost. Don't have a tag? We offer them for free at PACC, any time we're open. Take this one incredibly simple and easy step to keep your pet with you and not in the shelter!
