We want to introduce you to a very very special gentleman sweet Henri. Learn more about him:
"Hi my name is Henri! I'm 1 yr old Chihuahua that wants nothing more than to sit on your lap and be your one and only. You would be so impressed with how far I've come as I learn to trust new people. My current foster family can teach you techniques to help with the transition. I would prefer no kids and if another dog is in the home, they are the same size as me and are happy to just co-exist. My ideal home is a quiet and patient family that will accept my quirks. I prefer to use pee pads and may steal your socks if you leave them on the floor. I am not in the shelter, I am in foster care, please schedule an appointment to meet me by calling our adoptions team at 520-327-6088 ext 173."
If you are not quite ready for the commitment of adoption, we are always in need of foster parents, please call our Foster Care team at 520-327-6088 ext. 148. Learn about our foster program here: The Humane Society of Southern Arizona
For over 80 years, the Humane Society of Southern Arizona has been caring for pets and the people who love them. Your gifts empower us to help even more, and now, thanks to a special match up to $80,000, your donation can go even further.

Does she sound like the one for you? Please call an adoptions matchmaker at 520-327-6088 ext 173 to learn more about her.

· · 532 dogs. We talk a lot about the numbers, but why does it matter?
Because right now, kennel space is so precious that every time a dog leaves for a new home, a call is immediately made on the radio for their kennel to be cleaned and filled with the next dog(s), who are already waiting in a temporary rolling kennel in our admissions lobby.
With nearly a hundred dogs past critical capacity, we simply do not have the kennel space for the ~45 dogs coming in daily - and as Pima County's only open-admission shelter, we must be able to take in dogs in need. Because of this, we currently have multiple dogs, dogs who are struggling the most in the kennel environment, at risk.
Our staff and volunteers are working tirelessly to get these dogs home, but what we need to make that happen is YOUR help - in fostering and adopting, yes, but also in helping happy, healthy pets find their way home BEFORE bringing them to the shelter.
