Wink Foster Friday at HSSA
Posted by: Admin - 01-03-2025, 01:55 PM - Forum: Pet Rescue Centers - HSSA & PACC - No Replies

[Image: heart.png]  It’s #FosterFriday, and we want to introduce you to a very special lady, the one and only Tilly! [Image: heart.png] Learn more about her:
Meet Tilly, a 3-year-old Pit Bull Terrier who’s as adventurous as she is affectionate. This playful, athletic, and extroverted pup has a big personality and an even bigger love for soccer! Her impressive skills with her favorite red ball are sure to steal your heart. With medium energy and a goofy, curious nature, Tilly thrives on fun and companionship, especially when it involves her favorite game.

Tilly is as smart as she is charming. She’s food-motivated and eager to please, having already mastered commands like sit, stay, and shake. She even excels at agility training, showing just how versatile and capable she is. Currently, Tilly is being fostered by one of her favorite volunteers while she waits for her loving home.

Here’s what her foster parent had to share:

“Tilly is a perfect houseguest. She’s housetrained, does well on her own during the day, and loves playing with her toys. At night, she’s happiest stretched out on the bed. She walks beautifully on a leash and enjoys her daily outings. She’s sweet, loving, and friendly with everyone she meets, human or canine. Tilly is nondestructive, only chews her own toys, and rarely gets on furniture other than the bed. She loves to cuddle and has been an absolute joy to have around. I can’t believe she hasn’t found her loving home yet!”

Tilly’s ready to bring her love, laughter, and soccer skills into your life—could you be her perfect match? ?⚽❤️
If you're not quite ready for the commitment of adoption, fostering is a great way to help! We are always in need of foster parents—please call our Foster Care team at 520-327-6088 ext. 148. Learn more about our foster program here at:  Please Foster Tilly

Heart Clarence Wishes all a New Year
Posted by: Admin - 01-01-2025, 12:06 PM - Forum: Pet Rescue Centers - HSSA & PACC - No Replies

[Image: heart.png] Happy New Year from Clarence and all of us at PACC! PACC is CLOSED today, Wednesday, January 1.We reopen at noon tomorrow and would love to introduce you to your new best friend ??

Our Animal Protection team is fully staffed today and emergency services remain available. As always, if you have an emergency, please call our dispatch line at 724-5900 and press 4. ?

Clarence is one of 10,043 pets that came into PACC as strays in 2024. #DYK PACC data shows that 63% of lost dogs in Pima County are found LESS THAN A MILE from their home?! That means that the majority of stray dogs found in Pima County are very, very close to home. We also know that only about a third of dogs that come into PACC as strays are reclaimed by their owner.

If you find a stray dog who appears friendly and healthy today, please keep them in their neighborhood and try to find their owner! Hanging up flyers, walking the dog around the neighborhood, and posting on neighborhood social media groups is MUCH more likely to get the pet home than bringing them here. Plus, upload to lost.petcolove.org to use their facial recognition technology to get them home ???

Visit:  Pima Animal Care Center,  4000 N Silverbell Rd, Tucson.

Heart Thank you HSSA, Please Donate Today, 3x Match
Posted by: Admin - 12-30-2024, 03:33 PM - Forum: Pet Rescue Centers - HSSA & PACC - No Replies

[Image: heart.png] Dear HSSA family,

As we approach the final hours of 2024, you have an incredible opportunity to make three times the difference for animals in need. Thanks to an anonymous donor and a grant from Best Friends Animal Society, all donations are triple matched, but only until midnight on New Year’s Eve! Every dollar you give will be tripled, up to $200,000. That means your generosity goes three times as far to provide vulnerable pets with lifesaving shelter, medical care, food, and a second chance at a loving home. ?

Toby arrived at the Humane Society of Southern Arizona (HSSA) with painful neck wounds and a serious tracheal injury. He was in desperate need of care. Our medical team worked quickly to treat his injuries, giving him the attention and comfort he needed to heal. After a few months of treatment and healing, Toby was adopted into a loving home where he is safe and cared for. Our doctors see countless pets every year who are in need of medical attention and hoping someone will give them a second chance at life. With your support, we can provide them lifesaving care. And they need you now more than ever. With your support, we can give them hope and healing as we enter the new year. ?

Thank you for saving pets like Toby. [Image: heart.png]

For the sake of other pets like Toby, please make your year-end contribution today. The triple donation match ends at midnight tomorrow. Together, we can make 2025 brighter for every pet who walks through our doors.

Donations:  Please Donate, every dollar is triple matched

Heart Meet Rooks at PACC
Posted by: Admin - 12-29-2024, 03:35 PM - Forum: Pet Rescue Centers - HSSA & PACC - No Replies

[Image: heart.png] Meet Rooks! ♟️ This vibrant young guy first arrived at PACC back in June and sadly was one of those pups that really struggled in the shelter environment. He unfortunately found himself on a deadline in November due to his significant level of stress in the shelter, but a dedicated dog walker volunteer stepped up to foster him and quite literally saved his life! ? #FosteringSavesLives

While in foster, Rooks has really blossomed from an unruly toddler who never had any structure to a tween who is well on his way to being a productive member of society. That’s where you come in! Rooks would much rather continue his journey in a long-term foster or adoptive home than back in a shelter kennel. His foster is generously offering continued professional training support post-adoption.

Here are some of the highlights we've learned about Rooks in his time in foster:
✔️ Absolutely adorable, especially when snuggling
✔️ Great potential to live with another dog(s) with appropriate intros
✔️ Gives the best kisses (if a little sloppy)
✔️ Crate trained, not destructive when left free rein in one-room she shed
✔️ House broken with appropriate breaks
✔️ Nose of a blood hound (could excel at scent detection)
Ask to meet this special guy before he goes back to the shelter on 1/5/25 by emailing pacc.adoptafoster@pima.gov. ??

Heart Nova Needs a Home ASAP
Posted by: Admin - 12-29-2024, 11:00 AM - Forum: Pet Rescue Centers - HSSA & PACC - No Replies

[Image: heart.png] Nova needs a foster or adoptive home ASAP‼️ Can you lend her a helping paw? ?

Nova arrived at PACC back in August. In her former home, Nova was housebroken, crate trained, loved toys, and was described as affectionate and playful. This girl just soaks in the attention; her former owner said she "will sit there and let you pet her as long as you're willing to pet her." ?

Unfortunately, Nova has become increasingly stressed in the loud and chaotic shelter environment and, for her mental welfare, desperately needs a caring person or family who can take her home for a long-term foster stay or forever.

Nova is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines. She'd like to meet any potential doggy roommates before heading home and hasn't lived with children or cats previously. Please come meet this girl at PACC today! ? #FosteringSavesLives

Visit:  Pima Animal Care Center,  4000 N Silverbell Rd, Tucson.
